President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) signed, this Tuesday (8), a decree that offers menstrual protection through the distribution of hygiene items, including sanitary pads.
The signing took place at a ceremony at Palácio do Planalto, in allusion to International Women’s Day, with the participation of the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga.
The Menstrual Health Program provides for the free supply of hygiene products and other products necessary for the period of female menstruation, as well as guaranteeing basic health care and developing means for the inclusion of women in menstrual health protection actions and programs.
“We have problems, but the profits are very big and that encourages us to continue. Obviously, in large part, this profit comes from the work of the women who are by our side,” Bolsonaro said in a speech at the event.
