Bones of Brumadinho victim found and identified after three years

The Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG) identified another victim of the rupture of the Córrego do Feijão dam, in Brumadinho, on the morning of this Tuesday (3). According to the Association of Relatives of Victims and People Affected by the Collapse of the Mina Córrego do Feijão Dam (Avabrum), he is production engineer Luís Felipe Alves, who was 30 years old at the time.

According to PCMG, five people are still missing and 265 fatal victims have been identified.

The Minas Gerais Fire Department said in a statement that a “body segment” was found on Monday (2), in an area called “Esperança 1”. As a result, a specialized search was carried out, which resulted in the “location of a bone with approximately 40 segments”.

After sending the material for expertise, identification was possible through the dental arch. Luís Felipe Alves was from Jundiaí (SP) and had been missing since the dam collapsed on January 25, 2019.
