Boni reveals how she chose the theme song and Betty Faria as “Tieta”

The former director of programming at TV Globo, José Bonifacio better known as Boni featured on social media, last Tuesday (20), as the opening song of the soap opera “Tieta” was created, and how was the choice of Betty Faria as the protagonist.

The plot will be replayed on the broadcaster in Vale a Pena Ver de Novo, from December 2nd, and Boni decided to tell some interesting facts about the soap opera.

“There are two funny stories with this soap opera. Firstly, the deadline was up, the opening had to be ready, the soap opera was going to premiere and quickly, quickly, they called me”, began Boni in a post on Instagram.

“Look here, there’s no song, there’s no lyrics. I said, leave it to me. And I went to the typewriter and sent the lyrics to João Araújo half an hour later, and then they ran after a composer, did a marathon, sent them to everyone”, he continued.

He said that, after that, they took a melody for him to evaluate. According to the former author, several artists recorded the sound, and he chose Zé Béttio’s version.

Boni also said that it was Betty Faria who wanted to act in the soap opera. “She came into my room and said: ‘Boni, I want to do Jorge Amado’s Tieta, I want to do this soap opera anyway.’”, he said.

“I said: ‘It’s a good idea, it’s a good memory, but I have to call Jorge Amado first, see if I can buy his rights […] She said: ‘No need, the contract is here on the table, I already bought it, the rights are mine’”, revealed Boni.
