Former director of TV Globo, Cute 63, used social media this Sunday (22) to say goodbye to the broadcaster after 40 years of work . The professional ended the contract in September this year but officially left the channel after delivering the end of year special by Roberto Carlos on the 20th.
On his Instagram profile, Boninho published a retrospective video of his career on TV, alongside an emotional text.
“More than 40 years of Globo doing what I love most: TELEVISION! How many programs, formats, ideas, friends, successes, others not so much, but always without fear of making mistakes!”, he wrote in the caption. “Because of everything I did, I had the opportunity to write a beautiful story that leaves me filled with pride and gratitude.”
Throughout the statement, the director recalled meeting his “great love”, the presenter Ana Furtado, 51, on the network, and celebrated ending the day with the “most beautiful special I’ve ever done”.
“Thank you Globo, my friends and partners who walked alongside me and collaborated to make each project shine even brighter. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks. Also to you who are always here cheering, enjoying. And may the new story that I will begin to follow from 2025 be as happy as I have been in all these years with you”, concluded Boninho.
Boninho became known for being one of the main people responsible for leading reality shows for Brazil. She was also the creator of several TV Globo pictures and programs.
Nicknamed Big Boss — for directing the reality show Big Brother Brasil since 2002 — he headed projects such as Fantástico, Rock in Rio, Especial Amigos, Show da Virada, Especial Roberto Carlos and Carnaval Globeleza.
