Changes in the “scheme” of subsidizing the unemployed with benefits will be provided by a bill prepared by the Ministry of Labor for next spring.
Government officials who are dealing with its provisions state that, for the time being, and with whom the Capital.gr The exact interventions have not been “locked in”, however, the same sources state that there are two data that will accompany the changes in the payment of the allowance.
The first fact is that no reduction in the level of unemployment benefits will be foreseen. On the contrary, according to the same sources, it is very likely that there will be an increase in the relevant fund.
This is because on the table is the provision for a cash bonus for the reintegration of the unemployed who receive unemployment benefits in the labor market in case they find a job while – according to a scenario under consideration, among other things – their subsidy is “running”.
The second fact is that the implementation of the new “subsidy regime” of the unemployed who are entitled to benefits will be a pilot.
In fact, they will be financed by the Recovery Fund with 100 million euros. This means that they will concern only one portion, the smallest, of the subsidized unemployed and not all.
Depending on how the pilot program “runs”, its nationwide implementation will be examined with state resources.
At the same time, in relation to the payment of unemployment benefits, a gradual payment of unemployment benefits is being considered.
Specifically, during the first months of payment of the allowance, its amount is closer to the average salary (ie 800-900 euros) and is gradually reduced.
So for example in the first month of unemployment, the beneficiary of the allowance could get 800 euros, in the second 700 euros, in the third 600 euros etc.
In this case, in the last month of the subsidy he could receive e.g. 200 euros.
At the same time, there is a scenario on the table of termination of the unemployment benefit in case the beneficiary successively refuses to be hired in a job proposed by OAED. Thus, in case a subsidized unemployed person refuses for 3 times – according to a scenario that is being examined – to work in a company proposed by OAED, he will lose the allowance.
