For Parisian spring, the pastry chef Francois Perret in front of the bakery hotel Ritz Paris , created a truly edible literary work. It is a limited edition of a six-page book made entirely of chocolate to be read and devoured.
The work is titled “Au Seuil du Printemps ”, a direct tribute to the French writer Marcel Proust who was a faithful guest at the Ritz since its opening in 1898. The book's cover is composed of a double layer of 64% dark chocolate from Ecuador with hazelnut praline and crunchy crumble.

The interior is made of white chocolate and the phrases are written in dark chocolate letters. The six pages reveal the text “Au Seuil du Printemps”, published in 1912 in the newspaper Le Figaro and taken from the chronicles “Vacances de Pâques”, by Proust. The text celebrates the beauty of spring represented by the white hawthorn flower.
The limited edition is available until June 20th and costs €190 (more than R$1,000). It can be purchased at the Ritz Paris Le Comptoir, the luxury hotel's pâtisserie boutique.
