Boomerissima: Alessia Marcuzzi’s return is not perfect, but she has (a lot of) heart

Twenty-five years since the last time, Alessia Marcuzzi sets foot back on Rai with a dress that could only fit her and Anna Dello Russo and with a brand new program that breaks the rigidity imposed by reality shows – from Big Brother atIsland of the Famous – which he conducted on Mediaset for more than ten years. The program is called Boomer, a new experiment designed to rejuvenate Rai and, above all, to give an identity to Rai2, a network which, thanks to personalities such as Fiorello, Alessandro Cattelan, Stefano De Martino, Francesca Fagnani and, indeed, Alessia Marcuzzi, is finally finding the his way. The idea behind Boomer is once again the generational conflict between Boomers – who in theory would be the Over 50s but who for many kids are anyone over 37 years old – and the Millennials, a conflict that television has recently rediscovered by telling in detail what the two teams have in common and what differentiates them.

Fortunately Boomer reject any explanations – a bit like those in the center of BellaMa’ with Pierluigi Diaco, always on Rai2 and always with the Over and Under generations compared – for the benefit of an explosive lightness which sees Alessia finally fresh, perky, as if she had freed herself from all the burdens she lived with until a few years ago. The result is an entertaining show, which blends several ideas together – from Fury to House Partywith a few sprinkles of Friends in the graphics of the cards – but which sees Marcuzzi as the glue of the segments, of the ballets (since when did we not see them on Rai in prime time?) and of the rehearsals between the two teams which, in all honesty, we would have liked to see more protagonists from the action. Curious is, in fact, that the dispute between the factions focuses almost exclusively on music, especially on the successes of the Boomer years and the Millennial years, perhaps to encourage a more instant identification by the public.

The comparison, therefore, does not pass through technology, through the way Boomers and Millennials solve the most disparate problems. No: the only playing field remains the musical one, letting the comparison with Fury is almost immediate, although we greatly appreciated the closing arguments gimmick by some members of the two teams in order to convince the studio audience to vote for them – this lap went well with Max Giusti and Tommaso Zorzi, even if for the next appointments everything will depend on who to insert within the two factions -. Although some guests have gone on a little too long and the general pace has suffered a bit, it is clear that Boomer it is not a perfect program, but it is a program of the heart. There will be plenty of time to smooth out the imperfections, enhance the strengths and let go of those that work less well, but it is clear that she, Alessia Marcuzzi, is the winner of this operation. tangible example of how, at 50, it is sacrosanct to put yourself to the test, get out of your comfort zone and demonstrate to the public that working while having fun is the greatest privilege there can be.
