The Prime Minister of Britain Boris Johnson convened a special meeting of the government’s crisis management committee today to discuss the situation in Afghanistan, a Downing Street spokesman said.
This meeting takes place at the Taliban continue their offensive and a day after London announced it would soon send about 600 troops to evacuate British nationals from Afghanistan.
The spokesman did not elaborate, but British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace had earlier said Britain would probably return to Afghanistan if the country began hosting al Qaeda in a threatening way to the West.
“The Prime Minister is convening the COBR Commission today to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan“, Said the spokesman.
