British police announced on Wednesday that they were reconsidering the decision not to conduct an investigation into a rally held in his office. Boris Johnson on Downing Street during the coronavirus lockdown, shortly after a new photo of the incident came to light – one of many that led the press to talk about “Partygate” scandal.
As Reuters writes, police are already investigating 12 rallies which took place in the office and residence of the Prime Minister, following one internal research which showed his staff enjoying an alcohol party on Downing Street, with the British leader himself attending some of them.
The British Prime Minister apologized for his behavior and promised to change the whole culture about his environment and the seat of government, reports the APE BPE.
However, it may not be easy for him to turn the page and avoid the fire he receives from all sides, even from Conservative MPs.
The Mirror newspaper published today a new photo of the aforementioned event, where Johnson is seen standing next to two staff members, one of whom has passed a garland around his neck, next to an open bottle of champagne.
The London Metropolitan Police said they had previously evaluated the event and decided that it did not qualify for a criminal investigation. «This assessment is now being reconsidered“, Said a competent spokesman.
