Boris Johnson: The new Prime Minister will be announced on September 5

THE Boris Johnson resigns from her prime ministership Britainforcing the ruler Conservative Party to choose a new leader to be announced on September 5th. Conservative MPs are controlling the process of choosing two leadership candidates. The party’s membership, some 200,000 people, will then choose the winner by postal vote.

The winner will “inherit” a parliamentary majority and become the country’s next prime minister.

The number of potential successors, as reported by APE-MPEhas already been reduced from 11 to 3.

Conservative MPs today participate in final vote. The two candidates with the most votes will advance to the next phase. The result is expected at 18.00 Greek time.

The two candidates are campaigning and meeting with party members to secure their support.

September 5 – The new prime minister is announced

The party announces the person its members have chosen as the new leader. The candidate with the most votes wins.

September 6 – Boris Johnson goes to the palace to resign

Boris Johnson is expected to leave office on September 6, his spokesman said, adding that he would move to Buckingham Palace to tender his resignation to Queen Elizabeth.
