Keir Starmer, the leader of the opposition Labor Party in the UK, responded to reports that Britain’s Boris Johnson will step down as leader of the Conservative Party on Thursday, calling it “good news”.
“He was always unfit for the job,” Starmer said in a statement shared on Twitter.
The Conservatives have overseen 12 years of economic stagnation, declining public services and empty promises.
We don’t need to change the Tory at the top – we need a proper change of government.

“He was responsible for lies, scandals and fraud on an industrial scale. And all those who were accomplices should be completely ashamed,” Starmer added.
“They have been in power for 12 years. The damage they have done is profound. Twelve years of economic stagnation. Twelve years of declining public services. Twelve years of empty promises,” said the opposition leader.
“Enough. We don’t need to change the Conservatives at the top—we need a proper change of government. We need a fresh start for Britain,” he continued.
