Botafogo fans invade technical center and charge players for performance

Members of Botafogo’s organized crowd, Fúria Jovem, invaded the Technical Training Center, in Espaço Lonier, West Zone of Rio, this Wednesday (15). Fans protested against the team’s performance in the Brazilian Championship.

In a statement, Botafogo repudiated the action of the fans and stated that the employees and athletes had been threatened, intimidated and harassed. The club also highlighted that internal attitudes are being carried out daily to generate better results in all sectors.

The Military Police were called to remove the fans from the training center. But the Botafogo people closed the entrance to space.

They stopped all cars arriving at the venue for the scheduled practice this afternoon.

When asked by fans about the performance of the players, the team’s coach, Luís Castro, guaranteed that he would “charge everyone”.

Midfielder Chayene Medeiros, known as Chay, was also stopped by the crowd and asked about being caught in a club after Botafogo lost 4-0 to Palmeiras last Thursday (9).

“Like last year, the result didn’t come, you came to collect and I talked to you. We know, we are coming here to work”, justified the football player.

Botafogo is currently in the relegation zone of the Brazilian Championship and has been without a win for five games.
