Friends and actors Ryan Reynolds 48, and Hugh Jackman 56, already have plans to reunite on the big screen again after the success of “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo stars together in “Boy Band “, film about the reunion of a musical group that was successful in their youth and returns to reunite in middle age. The film will be directed by Shawn Levy, responsible for “Deadpool & Wolverine“, which brought the duo together in theaters this year.
“Shawn [Levy]Hugh [Jackman] and I are open to creative ways to make this film in a very cost-effective way,” Reynolds told the publication about the film. “Many boy band members have had agents who let them down. They experienced levels of fame that would be difficult for anyone to deal with, especially as teenagers.”
He continued: “This situation creates arrested development. They are forever associated with that period of their lives. The film would be about people in their 40s and 50s trying to take back control of their lives. And I think there’s something really beautiful about that.”
The project was acquired by Paramount Pictures with Reynolds as producer and Hugh Jackman negotiating a role in the cast. In addition to acting, Reynolds will also write the script, in collaboration with Jesse Andrews .
“Boy Band” does not yet have a release date.
