What do the reviews say?
The Guardian’s review, which gave top marks to the British singer’s album, praises the compositions and the experimental tone of Charli’s album, which, according to the text, does not surrender to the usual strategies of pop music that fears addressing the same themes .
“Most of your fellow superstars are busy making unreliable songs about how hard it is to be famous. However, Charli never lost sight of how difficult it is to be human.”
Rolling Stone, which gave one of the worst reviews of the album, giving it four out of five possible stars, highlights the intersection of dance beats with lyrics that instigate deep reflections and show a mental confusion typical of the dance floor.
“On her sixth album, she stays out until the early hours and tries harder than ever. While she’s twirling on the dance floor, she’s also twirling in her head, delving deep into the kinds of insecurities and fears in store for the comeback the next morning.
“Brat” dominated social media
The release of the album is the culmination of a publicity campaign led by the singer’s Brazilian fans, who filled social networks such as X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram with references to the visual identity of “BRAT”.
The cover of the new album is simple, marked by a color that became known as “brat green” and filled people’s timelines with memes and Instagram notes with squares in the color of the album.
In addition to promoting “Brat” using small trucks covered with LEDs in cities like London and Paris, the singer also changed all of her album covers to the visual identity of the new album, keeping only the symbolic color of each of them.
