Brazil breaks record for dengue deaths; there are more than three million cases

O Brazil broke the record for dengue deaths this Wednesday (10) . There are 1,256 confirmed deaths, 77 more than was recorded in the entire year 2023 , when Brazil reached 1,179 deaths from the disease. In addition, 1,857 deaths remain under investigation to determine whether they are related to the disease. Data from the Ministry of Health's Arbovirus Panel.

Furthermore, the Brazil has already recorded 3,062,181 probable cases of the disease, number 85% higher than what was recorded throughout 2023.

Regarding the dengue incidence rate, for every 100 thousand inhabitants, the rate is 1,508. The World Health Organization (WHO) considers an epidemic when this parameter is greater than 300.

When it comes to the fatality rate in probable cases, the index is 0.04, while in serious cases, this number is 4.21.
