Brazil has reported 112,286 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, while 251 patients have died from complications of Covid-19 in the same period, according to the country’s Ministry of Health.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, almost two years ago, the total number of infections is 22,927,203, while that of the victims of Covid-19 is 620,796, according to the same source.
The number of new cases announced on Friday is the highest since June 23 and marks a huge leap compared to the same day last week, when 63,292 infections were recorded.
Brazil has the third highest number of deaths from complications of Covid-19, after the United States and Russia, as well as the 3rd highest number of confirmed cases in the world, after the USA and India.
