The federal government has been discussing sending a team of 30 technicians specializing in rescue operations to victims of the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria.
According to reports made to CNN the Planalto Palace is evaluating the possibility of sending the group on a KC-390-style cargo plane, accompanied by donations of supplies for those injured in the tragedy.
The expectation is that the decision will be taken this Tuesday (7) and the shipment will take place until Wednesday (8).
The tremors left thousands dead, injured and homeless. They were the strongest in a century in the region.
As of Tuesday morning (7), the confirmed death toll in both countries was over 5,000. The number of buildings that collapsed in Turkey alone has surpassed 5,600.
According to the United States Geological Survey, at least 75 aftershocks measuring 4.0 or more on the Richter scale occurred after the first quake.
