The Brazilian delegation did not attend the speech by Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, at the plenary session of the UN General Assembly, in New York, this Friday (27).
THE CNN was able to confirm with Itamaraty sources that this was the only General Assembly speech that Brazilians did not follow in person.
The representatives watched the speech by the Pakistani prime minister, who spoke immediately before Netanyahu, and left the venue before the Israeli took the stage.
Brazil resumed its seat for the speech by the Prime Minister of Barbados, which came after Israel’s speech.
Other diplomatic delegations left the site during the first few seconds of Netanyahu’s speech. No Palestinian representative attended the Israeli prime minister’s speech.
