Brazil exceeds 200 thousand daily cases of Covid-19 for the first time

Brazil recorded, this Wednesday (19), 204,854 new cases and 338 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. It is the first time that the country has daily infections above 200,000.

The previous record was set on September 18, 2021, with 150,106 cases recorded. The data are from the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass).

The moving average of deaths was 212, considering the last seven days.

Another record was broken in the moving average of cases, with 99,974 infections considering the same period.

With the update, the country has a total of 23,416,748 cases and 621,855 victims of the disease since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

According to Conass, Rio de Janeiro also had an increase in notifications due to records dammed up due to technical problems in accessing the e-SUS notifies system database.

Number of children and adolescents in ICU rises 61% in the last two months in SP

Anvisa asks for more information to decide on the release of self-test in the country

The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) requested additional information from the Ministry of Health to deliberate on the use of Covid-19 self-tests in Brazil. The decision released this Wednesday (19) is the result of a vote by the Agency’s Collegiate Board after analyzing the request made by the Ministry of Health on January 13. Read more.
