Wine cellar at The Yeatman, a hotel and restaurant in Porto, Portugal

Wine Spectator’s select Grand Award list has only 96 addresses around the world. This year, four new addresses joined the list. They are: Grasing’s in Carmel-by-the-sea, California; the Lazy Bear , In San Francisco; O The Hotel Bistro , in Beuane, in Burgundy; and the The Yeatman in Porto, Portugal.

The latter was the setting for the filming of the 4th season of CNN Travel & Gastronomy, in which the hotel and the restaurant, both of the same name, share a passion for Portuguese and Port wines. The restaurant has two Michelin stars and its menu has more than 1,600 labels. The hotel’s wine cellar has more than 30,000 bottles.

Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards debuted in 1981 and were created to recognize restaurants with superior wine lists. Every year, restaurants from all over the world can apply and have the chance to have their cards evaluated and awarded in one of the three categories.
