Brazil has a risk of storms this Saturday and the cyclone gains strength in the high seas; look

There is a risk of storms in all regions of Brazil this Saturday, 18th, according to a warning from Climatempo, a meteorology company. This is because atmospheric conditions remain “very favorable” for the formation of “large rain clouds”.

“Areas of instability in the Intertropical Convergence Zone increase rainfall in areas of the North and Northeast,” says the alert. “The combination of hot and humid air that predominates over the whole of Brazil, with the tendency of cyclonic circulation at various levels of the atmosphere, generates heavy clouds over the South, Southeast and part of the Central-West.”

Having started forming since the night of Wednesday, 14th, a subtropical cyclone continues to gain strength in the high seas, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, according to the classification of the phenomenon made by the Navy. The forecast is for heavy rains in areas of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

According to Climatempo, with the greater drop in atmospheric pressure, the cyclone could become a subtropical storm, which will be called Akará. “The system tends to move south, heading towards the coast of SP, but away from the continent.”

How will the weather behave on Saturday?

In the Southeast, “cyclonic circulation, that is, clockwise, helps to concentrate moist air and facilitates the formation of heavy clouds”, says Climatempo. Minas and Espírito Santo face a day with clouds and rain showers with moderate to strong lightning.

Rain showers during the afternoon and evening are expected in the interior and on the north coast of Rio de Janeiro, in Greater São Paulo and in the interior of São Paulo. In Grande Rio, the coast of Rio de Janeiro and the coast of São Paulo, there will be sun, but rain can happen at any time.

In the South region, the Sun appears between clouds. Rain showers with lightning are mainly expected in the afternoon and evening, in most of the region, according to Climatempo. There is a storm warning in the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, on the northern plateau of Santa Catarina and in the Itajaí valley.

In the Central-West, there is a storm warning for Goiás, the Federal District and Mato Grosso do Sul. Rain showers with lightning can occur at any time. In Mato Grosso, they occur in the afternoon and at night, and can be moderate to strong.

In the Northeast, storms are forecast in Bahia, in the hinterland of Pernambuco, in the center-south of Maranhão and Piauí, says Climatempo. In the interior and on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Norte, in the north and on the coast of Ceará and Piauí, in the Agreste of Paraíba and Pernambuco, and in Alagoas, rain should be moderate. The rain is between moderate and heavy on the coastal strip between the east of Rio Grande do Norte and Pernambuco.

There is a risk of moderate and heavy rain in almost the entire North region. Tocantins and the Amazonas border with Peru are at risk of storms.
