Brazil has already recorded more than 50 air accidents in 2024

Brazil has already recorded 54 incidents of air accidents in 2024, according to the Aviation Safety Network (ASN) website, run by the Flight Safety Foundation, an international organization dedicated to aviation safety.

According to the website's database, 24 people died in Brazil this year as a result of plane crashes. In terms of comparison, in the same period of 2023, the site recorded 13 deaths and 56 incidents.

Of the 54 incidents in 2024, at least 20 are aircraft crashes, with 11 fatalities. The other flight incidents involve forced landing, bird strikes and engine problems. A CNN contacted the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa) and is awaiting a response.

Worldwide, the website recorded 842 occurrences and 273 fatalities in 2024.

Plane crash leaves one dead and six injured in Acre

An agricultural plane crashed in the afternoon of Saturday, January 27, in the city of Palestine, near São José do Rio Preto, in the interior of São Paulo. One death was recorded at the scene. According to the São Paulo Fire Department, the agricultural services aircraft crashed at the Palestine Interchange, in a rural area.

Two people die in plane crash in SP

Two people died in the plane crash, which occurred on the border between the cities of Ribeirão Pires and Rio Grande da Serra. Security teams from both municipalities were called to help with the incident. According to the Fire Department, the plane crashed in a dense forest area.
