Brazil reached 50,493,061 health plan users in December last year. It is the highest number since December 2014.
Compared to December 2021, there was an increase of 1,590,912 beneficiaries. In the November/December 2022 comparison, an increase of 239,466 customers.
The numbers are from the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS). The survey shows that there was an increase in users in all Brazilian states, but the highlight is São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, which had the greatest gain in beneficiaries in absolute numbers.
The breakdown by age group shows that the greatest growth was in users between 40 and 44 years old, followed by the age group from 45 to 49 years old.
Dental health plans also had expressive results. According to ANS, today, in Brazil, there are 30,950,314 users of this segment. The number represents overcoming the historical record for the 11th time in the year (from February to December).
In 12 months, there was an increase of 2,057,899 beneficiaries. In the November/December 2022 comparison, growth of 151,721 customers.
There was also an increase in hiring in all Brazilian states. As well as standard health plans, in the dentistry segment, the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, which are the most populous states in the country, also stood out.
The age group with the highest growth in dental plans was from 30 to 34 years old. In second place, babies up to one year old come.
