Brazil invests less than 82% of countries; oil gives in and brings relief


The IBGE releases this Thursday (2) the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter of 2022. In the first quarter of last year, GDP grew 1.4%, showing a drop in the two subsequent records, but resuming the high in last quarter of 2021.

A survey by FGV/Ibre shows that Brazil invests less than 82% of countries. The average rate of investment over GDP in the world is over 27%, while in advanced countries this rate is 23% and in emerging countries, led by China, the figure rises to over 33%; in Brazil, the rate should end at 18.4%.

Another highlight of this Thursday’s episode is oil, which saw the price of a barrel pass US$ 120 during the week. However, a report by Financial Times which revealed Saudi Arabia’s intention to increase production of the commodity due to the Russian oil embargo, which caused prices to fall to around US$ 113.
