THE Cannes Festival announced in its official channels on Wednesday (26) that the Brazil was chosen to be the country honored in the 2025 edition of Marché Du Film Business Center of the Film Market that is part of the event.
Between May 13 and 21 Brazilian audiovisual professionals – such as filmmakers, producers and decision makers of the area – will meet in the city of the French coast for a program with show shows, presentations and events of networking.
Also, Brazil will be the host of the opening ceremony of Marché du Film, which will take place at Plage Des Palmes, when the Brazilian participants of the event will be honored.
The choice is part of the Brazil-France 2025 season, a program established by an agreement between the governments of both countries in 2023 to promote cultural exchange in the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Brazil’s audiovisual production is featured with the three Oscar 2025 nominations of the movie “I’m Still”, directed by Walter Salles and starring actress Fernanda Torres.
