Brazilian President Zaire Bolsonaro was discharged from hospital this morning after being treated overnight for an examination, the Globo News news network reported.
Communications Minister Fabio Faria told Reuters late Monday night that Bolsonaro had been admitted to a Brasilia hospital with abdominal pain, but added that the president was “extremely well”.
So far, no medical announcement has been issued by his treating physicians or any announcement from the presidential office.
The 67-year-old Bolsonaro was stabbed in the abdomen during his 2018 election campaign and has had recurring gastrointestinal problems ever since.
The far-right president needed hospitalization on two occasions, in July and January, for gastrointestinal problems. He has undergone several surgeries after the attack against him in 2018.
