The President of Brazil felt unwell yesterday, Zaich Bolsonaru, as a result of which he was admitted to a military hospital in Brasilia at night to undergo examinations, as reported by Brazilian media.
The 67-year-old Bolsonaro was stabbed in the abdomen during his 2018 election campaign and has been suffering from gastrointestinal problems ever since. In fact, yesterday he was absent from a pre-election rally of the Republican Party.
“I am sure the president is doing well, he has undergone some examinations, that is why he is not here,” explained the party’s president, MP Marcus Pereira.
According to the G1 news website, First Lady Michel Bolsonaru went to the rally and assured that her husband was “doing well”, while Communications Minister Fabio Faria spoke of “illness”.
The far-right president entered the hospital in July and January, for problems in his intestinal system. He has undergone several surgeries after the attack against him in 2018.
