Brazil recorded 19,864 cases of Covid-19 and 216 deaths from the disease in the last 24 hours. The data were released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) this Monday (28).
The numbers show the downward trend in both cases and deaths.
The moving average of Covid-19 deaths fell for the eighth day in a row, reaching 678 – the lowest number since February 2.
The moving average of cases fell for the 19th consecutive day, reaching 77,488 – the lowest number since January 17.
Moving averages take into account the average of the last seven days and help correct any distortions caused by underreporting.
With the updated numbers, Brazil totals 28,787,620 cases of Covid-19 and 649,350 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
