Brazil reaches the mark of 460 million vaccines against Covid-19 distributed

Brazil has reached the historic mark of 460 million vaccines against Covid-19 distributed to all states and the Federal District, the Ministry of Health reported this Sunday (27).

Vaccination coverage already exceeds 90% of the population over 12 years of age with the first dose and 83% of this same public with the complete vaccination schedule or a single dose.

So far, more than 53 million people have taken the booster dose, given four months after the second dose.

This week, the Federal Government received the first batch of the Covid-19 vaccine produced 100% on Brazilian soil.

The first shipment of more than 550 thousand doses – delivered by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) – will be distributed to the federative units in the coming days.

“The delivery of the first batch manufactured with national Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (IFA) marks the self-sufficiency of Brazil in the production of immunizations”, highlighted the Ministry, in a note.
