Brazil receives 1.8 million doses of Pfizer’s pediatric Covid-19 vaccine

Brazil received, this Monday (31), a new batch with 1.8 million doses of Pfizer’s pediatric vaccine against Covid-19. The new shipment, which arrived at Viracopos Airport, in Campinas (SP), will be sent for quality control. After release, the vaccines will be distributed to the states and the Federal District according to the planning of the Ministry of Health.

Next month, the expectation is that Pfizer will deliver a total of 7.2 million doses and, in March, another 8.4 million immunizers. The vaccination schedule for children with this immunizing agent consists of two doses with an interval of eight weeks.

Progress in the application of booster doses

This Sunday (30), Brazil surpassed the mark of 40 million people vaccinated with the booster dose against Covid-19.

According to a survey by the Ministry of Health, more than 53 million Brazilians who can receive the booster have not yet returned to their posts.

So far, more than 407 million doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have been distributed, with more than 355 million already applied to the population.
