Brazil receives another 1.2 million pediatric doses against Covid this Sunday

Brazil should receive, this Sunday (16), a new batch with 1.2 million doses of pediatric vaccines from Pfizer against Covid-19. The information was released by the executive secretary of the Ministry of Health, Rodrigo Cruz, in a publication on social networks.

“The second shipment of doses of Pfizer’s pediatric vaccine was brought forward to 01/16, there will be another 1.2 million doses. And closing the month of January, on 01/27 there will be another 1.8 million doses”, stated Cruz in Publication no Twitter.

States and municipalities receive doses from the first shipment

The first shipment, with 1.2 million doses, arrived in Brazil on Thursday (13). The vaccines are already being distributed to the states and the DF. The inclusion of children aged 5 to 11 years in the National Plan for the Operationalization of Vaccination against Covid-19 (PNO) was announced last week.

Parental authorization is required for the immunization of this public. In the event of the presence of those responsible for the vaccination, the written term will be waived.

For 2022, the federal government has signed a contract for the purchase of more than 100 million doses of Pfizer, with the possibility of acquiring an additional 50 million doses.
