Brazil recorded 13 deaths and 6,006 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to an update from the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass), held this Sunday (8).
With this, the moving average of deaths marks 89. The moving average of cases is 15,720.
The indices consider the average number of infections and deaths recorded in the last seven days. The data allow monitoring of the pandemic indicators without possible distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends.
As a result, the country has recorded 30,564,536 cases and 664,139 deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
Vaccination
The Ministry of Health reported that 418.81 million doses of vaccine against Covid-19 were applied in Brazil, of which 175.16 million were the first dose, 155.72 million were the second dose and 4.84 million were single doses.
77.57 million booster shots, 2.13 million second booster shots and 3.37 million additional shots were also given.
First drug for mild cases of Covid-19 in the SUS is approved
The Ministry of Health (MS) announced that it will incorporate a drug into the SUS for the treatment of patients with mild and moderate cases of Covid-19.

Substrain XQ, recombinant of Ômicron, was identified in São Paulo
The Health Department of São Paulo confirmed on Thursday (5) two cases of the recombinant variant of Ômicron, called XQ, in the capital of São Paulo.
According to the international classification system for strains and variants of the coronavirus, called Pango, XQ is a mixture of the BA.1.1 and BA.2 substrains and has been sequenced 58 times in the UK and once in the Netherlands. oldest record date is February 12, 2022. Read more.
