This Monday (6), Brazil recorded 36 deaths and 35,783 cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours, according to data from the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass).

More than half of new infections were reported in the Southeast. The region had 21,156 Covid records.

Just behind is the Midwest, with 8,662 cases. The Northeast recorded 2,918, the South had 2,503 and, finally, the North had 544.

The data were compiled by the Ministry of Health based on the State Health Departments.

With the update, the country accounts for 667,041 fatalities and 31,195,118 infections from the disease.

The seven-day moving average of cases was 31,065. The death indicator stood at 75.

Moving averages consider the variation of infections and deaths recorded in the last seven days.

They allow monitoring of the pandemic indicators without possible distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends.
