Brazil recorded 77,947 cases of Covid-19 and 284 deaths from the disease in the last 24 hours. The numbers were released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) this Monday (31).
With that, after 12 days of records in the moving average of cases, the country had two days of slight drop in the index: it went from 186,492 (on the 29th) to 186,363 (on the 30th) and 185,593 on this January 31. The overnight drops were -0.06% and -0.4% respectively.
The moving average is the average of the numbers recorded in the last seven days. The metric is used to reduce distortions on days such as Sundays and Mondays, which tend to have lower numbers because the secretariats notify less on weekends.

The country accumulates 25,426,744 cases of Covid-19 and 627,138 deaths resulting from the diseases recorded since the beginning of the pandemic.
