Brazil records lowest moving average of Covid deaths since February 4

Brazil recorded 91,595 cases of Covid-19 and 770 deaths from the disease in the last 24 hours. The data were released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) this Friday (25).

As a result, the country had a fall in the moving average of deaths for the fifth consecutive day, reaching 733, the lowest number since February 4 – a reduction of -12.7% compared to the moving average of the previous week.

The moving average of cases, meanwhile, fell for the 16th day in a row, reaching 87,340 – the lowest number since January 18. The index shows a decrease of -20.9% compared to the moving average of the previous week.

Moving averages consider the average of the numbers recorded in the last seven days and serve to follow the pandemic numbers without any distortions caused by underreporting on weekends.

In all, since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has recorded 28,670,242 cases of Covid-19 and 648,160 deaths from the disease.
