Brazil records the largest number of infractions on federal highways in 17 years

Brazil registered the largest number of traffic violations in federal highways Since 2007. According to a survey released by the Federal Highway Police (PRF), almost 9.5 million infractions were recorded in 2024.

According to the table presented by the PRF, the year 2024 recorded 9,483,949 million cases, 2018 being the second year with the highest number of records, with a total of 7,356.179.

Data on the causes of infractions were also presented. Last year recorded about six million cases per speed, higher number in the last 17 years, plus 9,591 cases of alcohol infraction finding, and 48,670 by alcohol refusal.
