Brazil registered 274 deaths and 10,250 new infections by Covid-19, this Tuesday (7), according to data presented by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass).
With the updated numbers, the country already has 616,018 deaths and 22,157,726 cases of the disease since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020.
The moving average of cases over the last seven days was 9,038. The mobile average of deaths was 191 deaths.
Questions about Carnival
The coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the Northeast Consortium, Sergio Rezende, assesses that the recommendation against New Year’s Eve and Carnival in the region is “a precautionary measure” in the face of the emergence of the Ômicron variant.
In an interview with CNN, he assessed that “many people have gotten used to the pandemic numbers, but that they are still high”. Read more.
