Brazil recorded 54,906 cases of Covid-19 and 669 deaths from the disease in the last 24 hours. The data were released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) this Wednesday (9).
As a result, the moving average of cases grew for the third day in a row and reached 50,158. Brazil had an index below 50,000 since March 3.
The moving average of deaths also increased and reached 500. The index was also below 500 since March 3rd.
The moving averages consider the average of the numbers recorded in the last seven days and serve to monitor the indicators of the pandemic without any distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends, but not necessarily on holidays throughout the week – as was the case with Carnival in last week.
In all, the country accounts for 29,193,268 cases of Covid-10 and 653,498 deaths from the disease since the beginning of the pandemic.
