Gabriel Leone plays the pilot Alfonso de Portago in “Ferrari” which arrived in Brazilian cinemas this Thursday (22), and stated, in an interview with CNN , that the film is “impactful in every way”. The title is the newest feature by Michael Mann responsible for productions such as “Fire against fire” (1995) and “Collateral” (2004).
“It's a film in which the action part is very well filmed, the car sequences are very well done, almost everything is practically a practical effect – that is, actually filmed. It's a magnetic and sound immersion in the racing part. The action part of the film is amazing,” she said.
“The drama part is also wonderful. There are great dialogue scenes, actors at the highest power. Just like everything is beautiful aesthetically – production design, costumes, makeup. Every point in the film stands out, in my opinion. I think he’s impactful in every way,” she added.
The Brazilian actor said that acting in “Ferrari” was a dream come true. A CNN he talked about how he got his first role in Hollywood.
“I would say it was a dream come true working with Michael [Mann, diretor] for being a big fan of his cinema, his films. Afterwards, I understood the dimension of this project for him, as he had been trying to carry it out for several decades, and it only makes my first experience in the American market even more special”, he pointed out.
Set in 1957, in Modena, Italy, the plot takes place in a key period in the life of the former racing driver, as he tries to overcome the death of his son, fights to maintain his company and seeks to dominate the tracks. To try to save his business, he decides to participate in the Mille Miglia, in Italy, while having to deal with a marriage in crisis.
“Ferrari” stars Adam Driver, but also stars Penélope Cruz as his wife Laura Ferrari, Shailene Woodley as his lover Lina Lardi and Patrick Dempsey like the pilot Piero Taruffi – in addition to Leone.
