The adoption of cryptocurrencies in Latin America continues to increase – one of the largest Brazilian brokers XP has launched Bitcoin and Ether trading on the Xtage platform.
Xtage is based on the technologies of the US stock exchange Nasdaq. According to platform CEO Marcos Horie, the company has received “many requests” from customers to implement support for cryptocurrencies. Users emphasized that they would like to invest in cryptocurrencies within the XP broker ecosystem, where they hold most of the funds.
The broker has more than 3.6 million clients. Users will be able to trade BTC and ETH both in the Xtage mobile application and using personal computers. The number of cryptocurrencies supported on the platform will increase. By the beginning of next year, the company plans to bring the number of available digital assets to 10.
Earlier, the head of the Central Bank of Brazil opposed the excessive regulation of the cryptocurrency market. According to him, it should be aimed at ensuring market transparency, and not stop innovation.
