Brazilian film is among the most watched in the world on Netflix

The Brazilian feature film “My Brother-in-Law is a Vampire”, directed by Ale McHaddo, is the most watched non-English film of the last week on Netflix.

The production, which debuted on the platform on Sunday (24), had 7.6 million views from Monday (25) until yesterday, January 1st.

Netflix's weekly count is always done from Monday to Monday. Thus, the film had a prominent first week on streaming.

In Brazil, the production appears first on the list of most viewed at this time.

The film stars comedian Leandro Hassum, playing Fernandinho, and actor Rômulo Arantes Neto, playing Gregório.

The production tells the story of Fernandinho, family man, former football player and current podcast commentator.

The character is surprised by the visit of Gregório, his inconvenient and lazy brother-in-law who he discovers is a vampire.

Also part of the cast are Mel Maia, Monique Alfradique and Edson Celulari.

More Netflix highlights

In addition to “My Brother-in-Law is a Vampire”, the most watched English-language film of the week was “Rebel Moon – Part 1: The Fire Girl”, with 34 million views in the same period.

Among the series, the most viewed English-language production was “Ricky Gervais: Armageddon”, with 8 million views.

And the non-English production was “Berlim”, from the “La Casa de Papel” universe, with 11.3 million views. Berlin only debuted last Friday (29) and has already stood out during the period.
