Died this Friday (8), the jurist Dalmo de Abreu Dallari, 90, due to respiratory failure. He leaves a wife, 7 children, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
According to the family, the wake will be held at the University of São Paulo Law School, in Largo de São Francisco.
Dallari was professor emeritus at the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo (USP), of which he was also director.
He was born in Serra Negra (SP) in 1931 and at age 16, he moved to São Paulo with his family. He joined the USP Law School in 1953, completing the Law course in 1957. In 1963 he applied for a professorship in General Theory of the State and, approved, joined the FD faculty in 1964.
In 1972, the jurist helped organize the Pontifical Commission for Justice and Peace of the Archdiocese of São Paulo, active in the defense of Human Rights.
In 1974, he began to teach in the postgraduate course of the Faculty of Law as a professor of General Theory of the State. In 1986, he became a director – a position he held until 1990.
From August 1990 to December 1992, he was Secretary of Legal Affairs of the City Hall of the Municipality of São Paulo, during the administration of Mayor Luiza Erundina.
Dallari was also the author of some works, among them Elements of General Theory of the State.
