Brazilian organization launches campaign to raise funds for Ukraine refugees

After sending more than 16 tons of food, medicines and water purifiers to Ukraine, the voluntary movement União BR starts this Monday (14) a new fundraising campaign to support the approximately 2.5 million refugees from war, as the most recent United Nations (UN) bulletin points out.

All the amount raised will be used to buy fast food and essential groceries for the survival of Brazilians and war refugees.

“The meals are 100% natural, with a high nutritional content and easy and instant reconstitution. Our foods are ideal for emergency situations and various social projects, for all logistical practicality and preparation, bringing dignity and a taste of homemade food”, says Rafael Romano, CEO and founder of Simple Nutri, one of the partner companies.

In addition, the initiative, which has a partnership with the Red Cross and the Order of Malta, will also be responsible for sending hospital items to refugees, further expanding the fronts of humanitarian aid.

The task force will once again count on the airline’s partnership, through its “Avião Solidário” program, which offers free transport of people and cargo in emergencies in Health, Environment and Natural Disasters.

Arriving in Europe, the material will be sent to a grain farm, managed by a Brazilian partner of the Brazilian organization BR, which provided the space to accommodate the refugees, in Siret, Romania, located on the border with Ukraine.

The place became a point of reception and distribution of food and supplies to refugees, in an initiative previously aligned with the Brazilian embassy in the country and that became an official consular point.

“We launched the campaign after getting all the logistics to ship the groceries. Now it’s a race against time to collect as much as possible”, explains Tatiana Monteio de Barros, founder of União BR.

Last week, 400,000 meals were provided to hundreds of thousands of refugees by sending supplies via the Brazilian Air Force.

The campaign is now open to companies and anyone interested in donating. Donations, with no minimum amount, can be made to the Solidarity Connection Institute, through PIX 4135890300126 or through the bank details of the partner institution:
