Psychologist Renata Moraes Rios, aged 45, was found dead on a beach in Sardinia, Italy, on Sunday (24). She worked as a judicial technician in the Federal District.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that it provides assistance to family members and talks to local authorities about the incident, through the Consulate General of Brazil in Rome.
According to the Italian news agency Ansa, the police’s main suspicion is that she drowned while swimming at night at Is Arenas beach, where she was found. The results of the autopsy should be released this Tuesday (26).
Renata was in Italy to participate in a psychology conference, held between Wednesday (20) and Sunday (24), where she would give a workshop. The psychologist stayed at a camp near the beach.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that “in compliance with the right to privacy and the provisions of the Access to Information Law and decree 7,724/2012, detailed information may only be passed on with the authorization of immediate family members”.
