In the global version of the reality show, Miranda reveals that she had difficulty keeping up her comedy time in English, the language adopted on the show.
“Communicating in a language other than my native language was definitely a challenge. My agility in Portuguese is undoubtedly greater than in English. Making people laugh in another language is a big challenge, it’s a different timing for comedy. This experience was undoubtedly a way to further mature my work,” he said.
The drag queen, who has a background in circus and theater, announced her retirement from trapeze shows after performing a number on the first episode of the Global All Stars season. She gave the reasoning as a physical condition that limits her artistic performances.
“I’ve always loved trapeze, but I understood a while ago that the effort required to perform as I wanted would no longer be possible. I prepared myself, had a lot of fun with the performance at Global and delivered. I had this conversation with my body and realized it was time to say goodbye. Understanding our limits is also strength!”, he said.
THE CNN she revealed that she learned an important lesson during the Brazilian season of the reality show: to throw herself into it head first and take advantage of the opportunity she was given.
“I learned a lot from Drag Race, but I would like to highlight the need to pay attention to the moments. In a reality show, sometimes you only have one chance to insert yourself into the scene, into the performance, and you need to be attentive. To compete in the Global competition, I took the advice that Grag Queen gave me: ‘Go, make the most of it, enjoy everything and a lot. You have already reached a unique level’”, she said.
RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars is being broadcast on WOW Presents Plus and will premiere on September 20 on Paramount+. The show will be hosted by RuPaul, who is also the franchise’s producer. The judging panel will include Michelle Visage, Jamal Sims and guests who have been on other international editions.
