By
message local publication, the Brazilian stock exchange B3 may enter the cryptocurrency market in 2022. This was reported by Gilson Finkelsztain, President of B3. To implement this project, it is necessary to study the possibilities of using and storing tokenized assets and providing cryptocurrency services using Crypto-as-a-Service (CaaS) technology.

“For us, the natural decision is to expand into the cryptocurrency sector,” said Finkelstein.

He added that B3 will not become a cryptocurrency exchange, but will enter the market and provide services to cryptocurrency traders. During the presentation, Finkelstein highlighted five main objectives of the project:

  • tokenization of assets;

  • improving access to liquidity centers through round-the-clock access to the global market;

  • escrow of digital assets;

  • ensuring greater security and efficiency in the storage of assets;

  • simplification of the processes of researching the cryptocurrency market for clients.

B3 is also going to launch a cryptocurrency ETF and is studying this issue. Brazil was one of the first countries to approve and launch cryptocurrency ETFs. In the summer, the Bitcoin ETF was launched for the first time, and in August, trading began on the first green ETF on BTC.

In early October, it became known that B3 could become an oracle for the state cryptocurrency system. Then Mardilson Queiroz, an employee of the Central Bank’s financial system regulation department, spoke about the regulator’s plans to issue the state digital currency.
