The Brazilian Bia Haddad Maia is in yet another final in women’s tennis. The tennis player won this Sunday (19) the Romanian number Simone Halep by two sets to one (6/3, 2/6 and 6/4), guaranteeing her place in the decision of the WTA 250 in Birmingham, England .

The other place in the final of the tournament went to the Chinese Zhang Shuai, who beat the also Romanian Sorana Cirstea in the tiebreak of the third set (4/6, 6/1 and 7/6).

The final of the WTA 250 in Birmingham takes place this Sunday, with no set time yet.

Bia Haddad will play her second final in a week. Last Sunday, June 12, she won the biggest title of her career by winning the Nottingham WTA 250. At the time, the Brazilian beat American Alison Riske by two sets to one, with partials of 6/4, 1/6 and 6/3.

The title broke a long fast without titles for Brazilian tennis players in international tournaments played on grass.

The taboo had already lasted 54 years. The last Brazilian to win a title on this type of floor was the multi-champion Maria Esther Bueno, in 1968, at the Manchester tournament, in England.
