Brazil received a strong inflow of dollars at the exchange rate contracted last month, informed the Central Bank this Wednesday (7), registering the best performance for November in six years.
The country’s foreign exchange flow was positive at US$ 3.467 billion in November, a sharp contrast to the deficit of US$ 3.398 billion that had been registered in the same period of the previous year.
The surplus was the highest for November since 2016, when Brazil had received net inflows of US$3.811 billion, and was the best for any month since last June (US$6.483 billion).
The commercial account had a positive balance of US$ 337 million last month, a clear improvement over the losses of US$ 7.174 billion seen in November 2021.
On the financial side, Brazil recorded a surplus of US$ 3.130 billion, a slight drop in relation to net inflows of US$ 3.776 billion a year earlier.
Central Bank data also showed that the exchange flow in Brazil was positive by US$ 357 million in the first two working days of December.
So far, in 2022, the foreign exchange flow is positive at US$ 22.414 billion.
