The Gross Domestic Product (GDP ) in Brazil had the seventh best performance among the world’s major economies in 2022 in the second quarter of 2022, according to a survey by the risk rating agency Austin Rating.
In the second quarter, when GDP rose 1.2% compared to the first three months of 2022, the performance was superior to that of countries such as United States (-0.2%), Spain (1.1%), United Kingdom (-0.1%), China (-2.6%) and Mexico (0.9%).
The ranking, made up of 29 countries, is led by Netherlands , whose GDP rose 2.6% compared to the first quarter. The podium is also made up of the Turkey with growth of 2.1%, and by Saudi Arabia, with an increase of 1.8%.
In the lantern, with the three worst performances, are China , Taiwan, which registered a decline of 1.8%, and Canada, whose GDP fell 0.3%. Russia, Chile and India have yet to release the results of their economies in the second quarter.
Also according to the survey, the Brazilian performance was higher than the general average, of 0.6%, and that of the countries of the euro zone with an average growth of 0.6%.
The number was also higher than the mean of the group of brics formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, down 0.3%.
The result of the Brazilian GDP came above the median of market expectations, which pointed to an increase of 0.9% in the monthly comparison and 2.8% in the annual comparison.
