Director Rola Nashef, with whom Batayeh worked on “Detroit Unleaded”, honored her colleague with a post on Facebook on Monday (5).

“You were everyone’s friend. And I mean everybody. There isn’t a person I’ve introduced you to or a waitress who took our order that you haven’t made laugh, think, inspire and cheer. You wanted us all to win. I still can’t believe this news. His sense of humor and flair for theatre, screenwriting, television and film were witty, outrageous and fearless. I pray so much for your sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins and our entire community who will forever feel your loss. Rest in peace dear Mike, you are my friend forever,” Nashef wrote.
